- WEEK 25 Date of planning: 5/ 3 /2023 Date of teaching: 9 /3 /2023 Unit 7: Numbers Lesson 3: Part A-C STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Identify some numbers (Four,five,six) from the recording and the given pictures;(Cognition) 2. identify the situations for Binh and Phuong and Baol (setting, participants, topic) 3. Perform the game in interesting ways by using meaningful gestures;(skill) 4. Show their interests for each other when talking about numbers B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Key terms/ Vocabulary Some animals: (Four,five,six) Key grammatical structure(s)/ sentence patterns Binh’s four C. Remind ss to the previous lesson Play the game “Look and Point”. - Write the words in different areas on the board. - Teacher shows a flashcard. - Students use their fingers to point to the word on the board and say it loudly.Have students say school objects Activity 2:Language in put (Activity A: Listen and point. Repeat. ) - Show pictures onTv, play audio, point to each picture - Have students listen to each new word. - Have ss look at their books, play audio again, and point to each picture in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Use flashcards and ask ss to read the words aloud *play the games with flashcards - Call some students to read aloud (Give feedback) Activity 3: Language in put (Activity B: Listen and point. – P.48 - Show the situational picture (Activity B on page 44) and ask the following questions to help them identify the situation or the context. 1. Point to the girls, ask “who are the girls?” (Sue,Kim) 1. Point to the boys, ask “who are the boys?” (Bill) 3. Point to the activity in each picture and ask : What is it? Set the scence : They are talking about their numbers - Play the recording (Track 122), point to the picture while listening. - Play the recording again, ask students to look at the picture in their book, listen and point to the picture. - Have students look, listen and say aloud the sentences - Play the audio again. Have students listen and repeat.And then play audio again. Have students listen, repeat and point. - Point at each word and have students call it out “(Four,five,six))” - Give constructive feedback and correct their pronunciation if necessary. Activity 4: Practice (Activity C P.48)
- - Show the game on the board 1.Have students look at the example. 2.Divide the class into two teams. 3.Have a student stand facing away from the board and stick a flashcard on the board behind them. 4. Have the student try to guess the answer without looking at the flashcard. 5. Give that team one point 6Have teams take turns Activity 5: Wrap-up & Assignments/ home-link. 1. Show their responsibility and respect for each other while taking part in activities and positive attitudes, appropriate gestures and intonation when saying about their age B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Vocabulary: How old are you? Structures : How old are you? C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Textbook: I-learn Smart Start 1, page 49 - Audios

What is the missing number? • Count from 1 to six skipping some numbers. • Have students say the missing numbers. • Have some students demonstrate the activity in front of the class. Start a new activity counting down 6-1 skipping some numbers Activity 1: Language input (Activity D- 1. Listen to the story.) 1. Pre-listening: Have students look at the picture. Point to each person in the pictures and have students call out the people they see. 2. While-listening: Play audio and have students look at the picture and people. Demonstrate the activity by pointing at the speech bubbles. Have students listen, point and read. 3. Post-listening: Point at each person in the picture and have students say "How old are you?/ I’m five./ I’m six.". Activity 2: Language in put (Activity D: 2. Listen and repeat ) - Have students look at the useful language box. - Play audio. Have students listen to the useful language. - Have students practice the useful language. Activity 3: Practice E- Ask and answer - Divide the class into pairs.
- - Have students practice the dialogue. - Swap roles and repeat. - Afterwards, have some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class. Activity 4: Wrap-up & home-link. 1.
