  1. WEEK 32 Date of planning: 23/4/2023 Date of teaching: 27/4/2023 UNIT 10: MY HOUSE Lesson 1. A, B, C STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. identify the situation for the conversation between Bill and Sue (setting, participants, topics); 2. talk about rooms of the house 3. Perform the song in interesting ways by using appropriate tone and meaningful gestures;(skill) 4. show their numbering abilities and great respect for other people’ abilities by using appropriate gestures and intonation when talking about rooms of the house B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Key terms/ Vocabulary Living room, kitchen, bedroom Key grammatical structure The sentence patterns: This is my living room C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook - flash card of room - a computer and a TV . STAGE 2: ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE Performance Tasks Performance products Assessment tools 1. Then get the class to watch a video “This is my house” from youtube Elicit the room which are mentioned in the video
  2. - Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students talk about rooms of the house and lead students to the new lesson. Activity 1: Language input (Activity A: Listen and point. Repeat) - Give some flashcards to elecit the words: Living room, kitchen, bedroom - Have students listen to each new word. - Have students listen to each new word and repeat all together and individually. Correct student’s pronunciation if necessary. - Arrange the flashcards on the board. Play audio and have students listen and point at the pictures in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen, repeat several times. - Change the order of the flashcards, point at them individually and have students say the words, correct pronunciation when needed. - Have students work in pairs, one points at the picture in the book and the other says the word Activity 1: Language input (Activity B: Listen and point.) - Ask students to look at the three pictures and answer questions to identify the situation for the conversation. 1. Who are they? (They are Bill and Sue) 2. Where are they? (in the house) 3. What are they doing?( talking about rooms of the house.) - Ask students to look at the pictures(Activity 2) and answer the following questions: 4. What does Sue say?( This is my living room) 5. What does Bill answer? (Oh! It’s nice.) - Elicit the sentences: This is my living room - Tell students that they are going to practise talking about rooms of the house - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. Activity 2: Full Controlled & less controlled Task 1: Controlled practice (Flash card cue drill.) - hang the flash card on the bb - ask Ss to talk about rooms of the house - Point to the first picture and get one St say (living room) - Ask students to say the rooms of the house chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. - Ask students to practice in pairs, talk about rooms of the house - Call on some Ss to talk in front of the class. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Task 2: less controlled. ( Activity C. Sing) Play audio and have students listen. 2. Play audio and have students turn to page 62. 3. Play audio and have students sing the song as a whole class. 4. Have some students sing in front of the class. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (talk about rooms of the house) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson?

  4. picture” correctly STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Option 1: Musical cards - Play some lively music. - Hand out the flashcards from this lesson. - Children pass the flashcards around all the rows of seats while the music is playing. - Stop the music suddenly. Ask the children who are holding the flashcards to stand up and say the word. - Play the music and continue in the same way. D- Point and say. - Show the picture of the house to the students. - Have students point to the rooms and identify them. - Have students practice the structure using the new word. - Repeat with other flashcards. e.g. Teacher shows flashcard "living room." • Class: "This is my living room." Optional activity 1: - Divide the class into pairs. - Have Student A point to the picture and Student B say, e.g. "This is my living room." - Swap roles and repeat. - Have some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class. E- Play “Guess the picture” - Have students look at the example. - Divide the class into two teams. - Have a student stand facing away from the board and stick a flashcard on the board behind them. - Have the student try to guess without looking at the flashcard. - Give that team one point if it's a correct guess. - Have teams take turns. Optional activity 2: Pass the envelope - Divide the class into groups. - Give each group an envelope with the word cards or sentences of the house. - Play a song as background music. Children pass the envelope to a classmate as the music plays. - Stop the music randomly. The student holding the envelope opens it and takes out one card and read it aloud. - Continue the game until there are no more cards left in the envelope. Wrap- up: Bang!
  5. - Students work in groups. - Give each group a box with many pieces of paper in it. Write a sentence on the paper (E.g. This is my bedroom./ This is my kitchen./ .) and fold it in half. - Add a few cards that say "BANG!". - Students take turns picking up a card from the box. If they read the sentence correctly, they get to keep it. If they draw a BANG! Card, they yell BANG! and then return all their cards (except the BANG! card) to the box. - - Ask students to answer the following questions: - 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? - ( identify rooms in the house ) - 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (keep the house clean ) D.
