  1. WEEK 4 Date of planning: 2/10/2022 Date of teaching: 6/10/2022 Unit 1: FAMILY Lesson 3: A-C A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Identify some family members (brother,sister) from the recording and the given pictures;(Cognition) 2. identify the family members from Vinh’s introduction (setting, participants, topic) 3. Perform the game in interesting ways by using appropriate tone and meaningful gestures;(skill) 4. Show their responsibility and respect for each other when introducing the family members. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Key terms/ Vocabulary brother,sister Key grammatical structure(s)/ sentence patterns This is my(brother) C. Remind ss to the previous lesson Play the game “Look and Point”. - Write the words in different areas on the board. - Teacher shows a flashcard. - Students use their fingers to point to the word on the board and say it loudly.Have students say father and mother Activity 2:Language in put (Activity A: Listen and point. Repeat. ) - Show pictures onTv, play audio, point to each picture - Have students listen to each new word. - Have ss look at their books, play audio again, and point to each picture in their books. - Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. - Use flashcards and ask ss to read the words aloud *play the games with flashcards - Call some students to read aloud (Give feedback) Activity 3: Language in put (Activity B: 1.Listen and point. – P.12) - Show the situational picture (Activity B on page12) and ask the following questions to help them identify the situation or the context. 1. Point to the boy, ask “who is the boy?” (Vinh) 2. Point to the activity in each picture and ask : Who is it? Set the scence : vinh is introducing about his family - Play the recording (Track 21), point to the picture while listening. - Play the recording again, ask students to look at the picture in their book, listen and point to the picture. - Have students look, listen and say aloud the sentences - Play the audio again. Have students listen and repeat.And then play audio again. Have students listen, repeat and point. - Point at each word and have students call it out “brother,sister.” - Give constructive feedback and correct their pronunciation if necessary. Activity B: 2.Listen and repeat – P.12) Play the recording (Track 22), point to the picture while listening.
  3. - Play the recording again, ask students to look at the picture in their book, listen and repeat - Have students look, listen and say aloud the sentences:”this is my brother” Activity 4: Practice (Activity C: Sing – P. 12) - Show the lyrics on TV - Play the recording and have students listen. - Play the recording again, have students do actions along - Play the recoprding again, have students listen, sing along, and do the actions. (Give feedback). - Remind Ss to look at the lyrics on page 12 if necessary. Activity 5: Wrap-up & Assignments/ home-link. 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? What is the missing letter? • Have students look at the flashcards and call out the words. • Write them on the board. • Erase 1 or 2 letters of each word. • Have a student go to the board. • Show a flashcard and have that student call out the word and say the missing letter(s). • Repeat the activity with other students. Activity 2:Language in put (Activity A: Listen to the story.) 1. Pre-listening: Have students look at the picture. Point to each person in the pictures and have students call out the people they see. 2. While-listening:  Play audio and have students look at the picture and people.
  5.  Demonstrate the activity by pointing at the speech bubbles.  Have students listen, point and read. 3. Post-listening: Point at each person in the picture and have students say "Hello Vinh/ Bobby/ Ms. Betty/...". Activity 3: (Activity B:Listen and repeat – P.13) Play the recording (Track 22), point to the picture while listening. - Play the recording again, ask students to look at the picture in their book, listen and repeat - Have students look, listen and say aloud the sentences:”Nice to meet you.Nice to meet you ,too.” Activity 4: Practice (Activity C: Role-play) Chain game - Divide the class into pairs. - Have pairs practice the conversations and swap roles. - Have some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class. Greeting - Have students go around, say hello to 3 friends, introduce their names and say “Nice to meet you”. - Have some students demonstrate the activity in front of the class Activity 5: Wrap-up & Assignments/ home-link. 1.
