  1. Date of teaching: 20/9/2022 Period: 5 UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Use the words and pronounce the sounds of the letters l and n in the words Linda and night respectively. 2. Listen and circle the correct words filling the gapped sentences. Then fill the gapped sentences and say them aloud. 3. Say the chant Hello, friends! 4. To help Ss know how to make friends. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 4, Student’s book page 10. - Track (Unit 1-page 10), - Word cards - A board, a computer and a projector. Use positive attitudes and Student’s interaction and Observation appropriate gestures to chant performance Listen and chant STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Greeting and playing - Greet the students. - Get the class to play the game “Slap the board". - Tell Ss that they are going to saying the sentences with the correct pronunciation. Activity 1: Listening practice (Activity 1: Listen and repeat.) - Introduce the sounds /l/ and /n/ - Ask pupils to look at the book and listen. - Play the recording for pupils to listen again and repeat. - Play it again to do choral repetition until they feel confident. - Ask learn to produce the sound of the letters “ l” in the word Linda and that of the letter “n” in the word Good night. - Call some pairs to practice in front of class. Other’s pupils to give comments. - Gives comments. - Correct mistakes of pronunciation. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Listening practice (Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud.). - Tell pupils read 2 sentences and guess the suitable words to circle. - Play the recording for pupils to listen - Ask pupils to listen again and do the task - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check. - Give feedback. Task 2: Let’s chant. - Introduce the Chant Hello - Teacher reinforce their pronunciation
  3. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole chant. - Put the class into three groups to practice chanting: one chants the questions and the other chants the answers - Get them to practice chanting and doing actions in groups - Invite three groups to say the chant and do actions - Give feedback. - Ask the class to listen again and chant Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Say the sentences with the sounds /l/ and /n/ correct pronunciation). 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (To help Ss know how to make friends.) - Remind students to prepare for the next lesson. D. Read the information in the student’s cards, and answer the questions 2. Write about themselves, using the writing frame. 3. Show the name cards, read a classmates’ card and talk about it. 4. To help Ss know how to make friends. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 4, Student’s book page 11. - A board, a computer and a projector. Others listen and comment. - Call some pupils to write their answers on the board. - Give feedback and correct mistakes Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Writing practice (Write about you.) - Tell pupils that they are going to write about your name, your hometown and your school. - Have them work in pairs or groups to discuss their ideas. - Give them time to do the task independently. - Go around offering help, if necessary. - Ask some pupils to read aloud their answers. - Give feedback Task 2: Project - Tell pupils that they are going to draw a card about themselves. - Ask them to work in groups to discuss and s to compare with their information. - Invite two groups of pupils to talk to the class about their information. - Give feedback Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Practice reading and writing more.) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? Identify the situation for the conversation among Nam and Mai (setting, participants, topics); 2. Ask and answer questions about someone’s countries, using the sentence patterns “Hi. I’m ____. Where are you from? Hi, ____. I’m____. I’m from ____.” 3.Show the love their countries,by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Vocabulary Japan, Malaysia, America, Australia, England Key grammatical structure The sentence patterns: “Hi. I’m ____. Where are you from? Hi, ____. I’m____. I’m from ____.” C.   8. - Play the recording for the ss. - Play again, have ss listen and repeat. - Elicit the new word and new sentence from ss. - Teach the new word and new sentence. - Ask ss give some more examples. Have ss read the dialogue. Check some pairs. Activity 2: full Controlled & less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Have ss look at the picture and identify the characters and what they are doing. - Give the meaning of some words England; America; Australia Vietnam; Japan: Malaysia - Ask Ss to imagine they are Hakim, .... Akio. They introduce themselves and ask where their partner is from a. Hi. I’m.... Where are you from? b. Hi, I’m.... I’m from .... - Call on some pairs to perform their task at the front of the class Task 2: Let’s talk - Ask Ss to work in pair and introduce themself then ask and answer about : where are you from?” - Calls some pair practice in front of class.

(Ask and answer questions question about someone’s countries, using the sentence patterns “Hi. I’m ____. Where are you from? Hi, ____. I’m____. I’m from ____.”) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? show interests for question about someone’s countries by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering. - Remind students to prepare for the next lesson. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear. - Play the recording 2 times. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T give the answer: - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Writing practice (Activity 2: Look and write.) - Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill. - Call on some Ss to report the answers. - Guide ss to complete the exercise. - Have ss read aloud the words they have written. - Check and correct. Task 2: Guided practice (Let’s sing “This is the way we do things” song) - Tell ss that they are going to sing “where are you from?” song - Listen to the song once. - Stop at each sentence, ask Ss to sing along. - Ask Ss to sing all the song. - Call some ss to sing in front of the class and others give comments. Activity 3: Wrap -up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1.What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Look, listen, and complete, showing the correct words filling the gapped paragraph). 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (Studious and obedient students and love their friends.).
