OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Identify the situation for the conversation among Mai, Nam and Trung (setting, participants, topics); 2. Ask and answer question about someone’s address, using the sentence patterns “What’s your address? – It’s...” 3. Show interests for each other’s address by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Vocabulary address, crowded, lane, quiet, tower, road. STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Greeting and watching - Greet the students. Present Unit 1. Point at the title and read it twice for Ss to repeat. Check comprehension and give feedback. Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat - Ask students to look at the four pictures (page 6) and answer questions to identify the situation for the conversation. 1. Who are they? (They are Mai, Nam and Trung) 2. Where are they? (in their school) 3. What are they doing?( talking about address.) - Tell students that they are going to listen a conversation among Mai, Nam and Trung - Play the recording, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. - Elicit the sentence pattern : What’s your address? – It’s... ..” and explain the meaning and the use.

Activity 2: full Controlled & less controlled Task 1: Point and say - Use pictures to elicit: address, crowded, lane, quiet, tower, road. - Point to the first picture and model the task with one student, using the expressions in the bubbles and the word under the picture. Teacher: What’s your address? Student: It’s 105, Hoa Binh Lane - Ask students to say the phrases chorally and individually. Repeat the same procedure with the rest of the pictures. - Ask students to practice in pairs, using the prompts in the bubbles and the pictures. - Call on some pairs to ask ans answer in front of the class and others give comments. Task 2: Let’s talk - Ask them to interview 3 or 4 friends: one student asks the question and the other answers with facts about themselves and then exchange the roles. - Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary. - Call on some groups of students to role-play in front of the class. Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (using the sentence pattern “What’s your address? – It’s... .. to ask and answer about other’s address) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? show interests for each other’s address by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering. - Remind students to prepare for the next lesson. STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Greeting and playing - Greet the students. Then get the class to play the game “Slap the board”. - Lead into the new lesson. Activity 1: Listening practice ( Listen and complete) - Tell pupils that they are going to listen and complete. - Remind them to pay attention to the information about address when they listen. - Play the recording the second time. - Ask pupils to listen again and complete. - Ask pupils to give answers - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check - Give correct answers. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Reading practice (Activity 2: Read and complete.) - Tell the class that they are going to read the text and fill the gapped paragraph. - Have them read the paragraph.Give the meanings of unfamiliar words if necessary. - Set a time limit for pupils to do the task independently - Ask pupils to read aloud their answers. - Ask other pupils to give feedback. - Give the correct answers. * Key: 1. from 2. lives 3 .address 4. street Task 2: Guided practice (Let’s sing “The wheels on the bus” song) - Tell ss that they are going to sing “The wheels on the bus” song - Play the recording for ss to listen and sing - Do choral and individual repetition of the song line after line.

What are they doing?( talking about what a village /city is like.) - Tell students that they are going to listen a conversation among Nam and Trung - Play the recording, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. - Elicit the sentence pattern: “What’s the like ? – It’s...”and explain the meaning and the use. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Writing practice (Activity 2: Write about you.) - Tell ss that they are going to read and write about their address by answer the questions - Give ss a few seconds to do it - Get ss to swap and correct their answers before checking as a class. - Write the correct answers on the board for ss to check Task 2: Guided practice (Let’s play the game Spot the difference) - The whole class play “spot the difference” game -T guide ss play game – ss play game – others give comments Activity 3: Wrap -up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Read, listen, and write, showing the completed paragraph). 2. What’re the core values of the lesson?
