- WEEK 34 Date of preparing: 7 /5 / 2023 Date of teaching : 8/ 5 / 2023 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? LESSON 3: 1+2+3 (page 62) STAGE 1: DESIRED OBJECTIVES/ OUTCOMES A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Identify specific information through saying the sentences with the correct intonation. 2. Read, listen and mark the sentence intonation ( or ). Then say the sentences aloud. 3. Say the chant: What do you thinh of it? 4. Love friends, hometown. Show pride of our country. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES. - Textbook: Tiếng Anh 5, Student’s book page 62 - Track (Unit 19-page 62), - Situational pictures and character cards - A board, a computer and a projector. - STAGE 3: LEARNING EXPERIENCES/ LEARNING PLAN Warmer: Greeting and playing - Greet the students. - Get the class to play the game “Slap the board". - Tell Ss that they are going to saying the sentences with the correct intonation. Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Listen and repeat.) - Tell the class that they are going to practice saying question and answer with falling intonation. - Ask pupils to look at the book and listen - Play the recording for pupils to listen again and repeat. - Play it again to do choral repetition until they feel confident. - Ask pupils to say the questions and answers in pairs. - Call some pairs to practice in front of class. Other’s pupils to give comments. - Gives comments. - Correct mistakes of pronunciation. Activity 2: full controlled & less controlled Task 1: Listen and mark the sentence intonation. The say the sentences aloud - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and mark the sentence intonation. - Play the recording for pupils to listen - Ask pupils to listen again and do the task - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and check. - Give feedback. Task 2: Let’s chant. What do you think of it? - Tell class that they are going to say the chant: What do you think of it? - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. - Play the recording again, pausing after each line for pupils to repeat. - Play the recording once more for pupils to repeat the whole chant. - Put the class into three groups to practice chanting: one chants the questions and the other chants the answers - Get them to practice chanting and doing actions in groups
- - Invite three groups to say the chant and do actions - Give feedback. - Ask the class to listen again and chant Activity 3: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Say the sentences with the correct intonation). 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? (Love friends, hometown. Show pride of our country.) - Remind students to prepare for the next lesson. D. Then get the class to sing the song:“Baby shark” from - Tell students that they are going to read a dialogue in which students ask and answer questions about stories and lead students to the new lesson. Activity 4: Read and do the tasks 1. Complete the passage. - Tell the class that they are going to read and complete the passage - Give the meanings of unfamiliar words - Set a time limit for them to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Have pupils swap and compare their answers before checking as a class.

Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Remind them about punctuation and when to use capital letters. - Get them to swap and read what they have written before inviting two Ss to read their answer aloud. Activity 6: Project - Tell the class that they are going to draw a simple map to show thw way to their home from their school
- - Get pupils to work in groups to draw pictures - Set a time limit. - Call on some groups to present Activity 7:Colour the stars. - Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension. - Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few pupils to read the statements aloud. - Give further support to pupils who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives. Activity 8: Wrap -up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Which place would you like to visit, Trang Tien Bridge or Thien Mu Pagoda.) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson? Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.) - Have Ss to look at the book on page 64; identify the characters in the pictures and what they are saying. + Who are they? + Where are they? + What are they talking about? - Play the recording and asks Ss to listen to the tape twice - Explain the meaning of the new words: - T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Have Ss listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles - Play the recording again for Ss to repeat the dialogue two times. - Let Ss practice the dialogue in pairs. - Gets some pairs to read it aloud. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech . - T elicits the structures by asking Ss to speak out the model sentence: Model sentences: Which one is bigger, NewYork City or Sydney? Put the sentences on the board and do choral and individual repetition. Go around offering help and correcting pronunciation, if necessary. - Select some pairs of pupils to role-play in front of the class.
