Activity 1: Language input (Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.) - Have Ss to look at the book on page 26 ; identify the characters in the pictures and what they are saying. + Who are they? + Where are they? + What are they talking about? - Play the recording and asks Ss to listen to the tape twice. - T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus three times. - Have Ss listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles - Play the recording again for Ss to repeat the dialogue two times. - Let Ss practice the dialogue in pairs. - Gets some pairs to read it aloud. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech . - T corrects pronunciation - T emphasize the past forms Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.) - Have sts see the pictures and identify the places in the pictures - T runs through. - T models: What did you do at the party? We - Open-pairs; close-pairs. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. - Have Ss look and describe 4 pictures - Ask Ss to read aloud 4 pictures - Ask Ss to practice asking and answering about the daily routines using picture a, b, c and d - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation - Some Ps report in front of class. Others observe and give comments if possible. - Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation.

Activity 1: Pronunciation practice (Activity 1: Listen and repeat on page 28) - Tell the class that they are going to practise saying three-syllable words with the stress on the first syllable: : 'party, 'Sunday, en'joyed, in'vite - Ask students the following question and elicit their answers. These words are nouns or verbs? (Nouns) - Ask students to look their books (Activity 1 on page 28). - Play audio track 1 (activity 1 page 28) more than once, ask students to listen to the tape and repeat. - Confirm by asking the following questions. Where do we mark the stress? (First syllable) or In which syllable should we emphasize? (First syllable) - Tell students that they are going to practise some sentences containing these words. - Play the recording more than once, ask students to listen to the audio and repeat. - Do choral and individual repetition. - Encourage students to write and say sentences with three-syllable words they have learned. Activity 2: Mark the words stress. Then say the words aloud: - Read the words in silence before listening the recording to do the task( mark the words stress). - Swap and compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. - 3- 4 pupils read out all words. - - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant “when was your birthday?” - Follow the procedure in Teaching the unit components in Introduction. - Have them read the chant and check comprehension. - Play the recording a few times for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. - Show them how to chant and do actions. Call two groups to give a demonstration. - Get groups to sit opposite of each other and practice chanting and doing actions. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. Activity 4: Wrap-up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (Practise two-syllable words with the stress on the first and second syllable: 'party, 'Sunday, en'joyed, in'vite) 2. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (review knowledge lesson 1+2 +3; write about someone’s birthday party and develop skills ) 2.
