OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: (Cognition, Skill, Attribute, and Competence) 1. identify the situation for the conversation between Tony, Phong and Mai (setting, participants, topics) 2. ask and answer their friends about someone’s address, using the sentence patterns “Where will you be this weekend? – I think I’ll be ______. ‘’ 3. show interests and love to their friends by using appropriate gestures and intonation when asking and answering about this weekend. What are they doing? - Ask students to look at picture d (Activity 1) (page 30) and answer the following questions: - Elicit the sentence patterns: Where will you be this weekend? – I think I’ll be ______. - Tell students that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about someone’s address. - Play the recording more than once, if necessary, ask students to listen and repeat the dialogue - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for students to listen and repeat. Model sentences: Where will you be on Saturday? I think I will be in the mountains. Activity 2: Controlled & guided practice Task 1: Controlled practice (Activity 2: Point and say.) - Have sts see the pictures and identify the places in the pictures - T runs through. - T asks Ss to match the pictures with the health problems using Sach Mem. - T models: T: Where will you be this weekend? S: I think I’ll be in the countryside. - Open-pairs; close-pairs. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. - Have Ss look and describe 4 pictures - Ask Ss to read aloud 4 pictures - Ask Ss to practice asking and answering about what someone is going to do on Sports Day using pictures a, b, c and d. - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation - Some Ss report in front of class. Others observe and give comments if possible. - Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation. - T gives a comment. Task 2: Guided practice ( Let’s talk) - Say: “ You are going to practice answering the question where someone will be - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering about past holiday using :

I think I’ll be ...- Lead into new lesson Activity 1: Listening practice (Activity 4: Listen and tick) - Whole class: have ss turn their books to page 31, elicit the outdoor activities and guess what they are talking about. Tell ss that they are going to listen to the recording, complete the gaps with correct answers - Play the recording all the way through for ss to listen, as they look closely at the pictures in their books. - Play the recording again for ss to listen and complete the gaps. - Replay the recording for ss to check their answers. Have ss trade their answer in groups for correction. Key: 1/c 2/a 3/b - Play the recording again for the whole audience to reinforce their pronunciation. Ask a few questions to ensure pupils comprehension of the listening text. Activity 2: Reading practice (Activity 5: Read and complete) Ask Ss to open their books on page 30. Tell Ss that they are going to read the text and complete the gaps with the words given: street, address, lives, from. Give Ss a few seconds to look at the text and read it in silence. Point to the words given and ask them to read in chorus. Ask Ss some questions related to the text:
- Give time to do the task independently. Have them swap their answers and correct them in groups before checking as a class. Activity 3: Song practice (Activity 6: Let’s sing) Hang on the poster which has the song on it, tell ss that they are going to sing a new song Play the recording all the way through for ss to listen while they are reading the song. Play the recording again for ss to repeat each line of the rhyme. Have ss point to the words while they are repeating. Have Ss repeat each line of the song, the other clap the rhythm. Repeat the step, but this time have ss swap their parts. Ss practise singing and doing the actions in groups, Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation error(s) when necessary Call on some groups to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing along and clap the rhythm. Have the whole class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation Activity 4: Wrap -up & Assignments - Ask students to answer the following questions: 1. What have you learnt from the lesson today? (ask and answer about addresses using the sentence pattern “What’s your address? It’s ) 2. What’re the core values of the lesson?
